Member Benefits

Publications
Members receive all three of our new release books (in print or digitally, depending on member type) each year. These critically-acclaimed, award-winning teacher reference texts are written by experts at the top of their field, connect literacy and English as a coherent, productive topic for theory, research, and educational practice, and address the Australian Curriculum: English and multiliteracies across key learning areas.

Teaching Units
All members have access to 450+ teaching units of work based on quality children's literature. Use them with your whole school or in individual classrooms!  PETAA's units are created by literacy experts, using evidence-based pedagogies and are designed with a busy classroom teacher in mind. All activities are linked to the Australian Curriculum: English and many are cross-subject linked too.

Webinars
Our growing series of member-exclusive webinars explores tips and topics relevant to your day-to-day work: the practical ins and outs of teaching English, language and literacies in the classroom and the inspirational moments and aspects of teaching. We aim to provide an exciting range of presenters and discussion areas — to deliver to you wherever you are.

Professional Learning
The convenience of PETAA membership extends to professional development, which is why many of our courses are run online, available for self-paced study. Members receive significant discounts across all courses so you can learn to maximise outcomes for students.  Our annual conference is also available at a heavily discounted rate; this one event makes up for the price of membership entirely.

PETAA Papers
Members have access to our entire catalogue of PETAA Papers (and receive a copy either printed or digitally in your member pack). These practical articles focus on a specific aspect of English and literacy teaching, offering real classroom examples and best-practice insights to bring the latest research into your teaching practice.

Personalised Support
Members can tell us their goals in English and literacy at any time, and we will provide the tools needed to get you there! We take pride in matching you to the resources that suit your individual context and priorities in literacy education, and will help to find the perfect book, teaching unit, PETAA paper, webinar, or professional development course to  give you that additional, personal support.
