PP196: Critical conversation: Joint construction
PETAA Paper 196 - The critical conversation about text: Joint construction considers theory related to learning and pedagogy, particularly in regards to the joint construction of knowledge and language and then apply these ideas to practice by considering the design of teaching and learning sequences to scaffold language and knowledge. The focus on joint construction is due to its role in assisting students in the shift from spoken to written language. In doing so, we draw upon the teaching and learning curriculum cycle as a framework for planning to support students to engage in critical conversation around texts.
