LIVE WEBINAR: Exploring Pain Science with Children's Texts
Dr Joshua Pate
45 Minutes
22 March 2023
Webinar
Dr Joshua Pate is a senior lecturer in physiotherapy at UTS. He is a passionate pain scientist and energetic educator whose goal is to make pain science education accessible to everyone and reduce the overall burden of chronic pain. He’s also the author of Zoe and Zak’s Pain Hacks, a new series of children’s books to help children learn about the amazing science of pain. Understanding pain, especially persistent pain, can be difficult, but kids can now learn about pain and talk about it with others. These books provide a comprehensive pain science education and offer an action plan for children. Dr Pate will introduce the series of books and explore why the books have been written. Josh will provide case studies to help teachers understand how to use the books in a classroom setting.
