Text fluency matters because of its relationship to reading comprehension, explicit fluency instruction can support students to decode better, read more fluently and improve reading comprehension. This course, created by Professor Timothy Shanahan, unpacks the relationship between automaticity, prosody and text fluency, and provides strategies for teaching and assessing text fluency.

This course is self-paced and unmoderated. All participants have access to materials for 365 days from the date they register.

  • Individuals: upon registration individuals will be sent a link to access the PL on our online learning platform.
