ONLINE: You're teaching Kindergarten? Part 2 - Reading

Robyn Wild

2 Hours

20 March - 10 April 2023

Online moderated course

Most Kindergarten children arrive on their first day at school thinking that they’ll learn how to read…so, let’s send them home on that first day as enthusiastic readers. This part of the trilogy will explore how we can help children think of themselves as readers right from the start.

Why participate?

  • Examine what is required at this stage of a child's development, and how they best learn.
  • Focus on routines and activities that support children's literacy learning and that encourage teachers to become kid-watchers.

Who should participate?

  • Foundation/ Kindergarten teachers
  • Pre-service and beginning teachers

What else do I need to know?

Participation in these courses can be one off or done as a series of three separate sessions. It is recommended all three be done in sequence.
