Watch: celebrating 50 years of PETAA

Open access. In recognition of 50 years of PETAA, we’ve put together a video exploring the last 50 years of primary English and literacy in Australia. From key changes to education in Australia to the publication of landmark texts for children and beyond, this short video charts the landscape of PETAA, and the teachers we're so proud to serve. It also includes special birthday messages from Pauline Jones (PETAA Board President), Susanne Gervay (children's author, educator, and advocate), Dr. Brian Cambourne (legendary literacy researcher), and Dr. Helen Adam (children's literacy researcher, PETAA Board Director)!

5 fictional teachers who are beloved by real-life educators

Open access. We asked participants at the PETAA 2022 Leading with Literacy Conference: from babble to Batavia and beyond – navigating the language and literacy landscape to tell us which fictional teachers were their favourites and why. The participants made some brilliant picks across literature, film, and television (many of these characters appear in more than one format) to highlight the educators in entertainment that they really enjoy.
