PETAA Resources Pathway: Vocabulary

This series of vocabulary and oral language staff meeting professional learning sessions guides school leaders in the use of mentor texts to teach vocabulary with a focus on building Tier 2 and Tier 3 vocabulary.

Each of the 5 staff meetings has a different focus, and includes the specific PETAA resources (e.g. a conference video presentation, or PETAA Paper) and activities for Instructional Leaders, Curriculum Leaders, Leader of Pedagogy or School Leaders to guide their staff through. Included in this Vocabulary pathway are staff sessions on:

1. Vocabulary and oral language
2. Learning vocabulary in context
3. Vocabulary with EAL/D students
4. Vocabulary with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
5. Vocabulary across different subject areas
