This comprehensive course looks at what is meant by metalinguistic understanding, how to plan writing lessons which foster understanding of language choices and how to generate metalinguistic talk in your classroom.

  • Explore metalinguistic modelling of choices in writing.
  • Unpack writing as a craft.
  • Each module will involve reference to research and underlying understandings combined with a writing activity, group discussions, quizzes and planning activities.
  • Reference will be made to quality Australian literature as well as examples from overseas authors.
  • Maximise your opportunities to draw together key learning with structured, built-in time for reflection.

  •  Teachers - Years F-6

 

How does it work?

  • Individuals: upon registration individuals will be sent a link to access the PL on our online learning platform.
  • Whole schools: One staff member must register on behalf of their school. They can choose to have a single link to view this together or can email us the names and email addresses of teachers they wish to enrol.
