Jennifer Asha: Objects and Memories | Foundation to Year 2
Jennifer is an experienced primary and tertiary literacy educator who enjoys writing teachers’ resources that emphasise the use of rich children’s literature including contributions to English for the Australian Curriculum website, Teaching Guides for the School Magazine and the annual PETAA Teachers’ Guide to the CBCA Short List.
Barbara Braxton: The Images of War | Years 5 and 6 (and 7)
Barbara is an experienced teacher librarian who has written many units of work for a variety of initiatives including the NSW School Magazines. She is the author of a series of books All You Need to Teach Information Literacy published by Macmillan Education.
Helen Cozmescu: Remembering through Word and Image | Years 5 and 6
Helen is an experienced literacy leader, who also works as an education consultant and tertiary literacy educator. She has written practical materials for teachers to implement in literacy classrooms, including contributions to the 2014 PETAA Teachers’ Guide to the CBCA Short List and PETAA Literature singles collections.
Kerry Gehling: Who Tells the Story? | Years 3 and 4
Kerry has worked extensively as a primary teacher and as an educational consultant in both Australia and the USA. Working with students, teachers and leaders, Kerry’s strong focus on literacy learning has provided inspiration for classroom and school literacy improvement.
Sophie Honeybourne: Changing Contexts | Years 3 and 4 and The Images of War | Years 5 and 6 (and 7)
Sophie Honeybourne is an Assistant Principal and freelance writer. She is a passionate advocate for the use of quality children’s literature in the classroom, authoring a number nationally published units of work, including the PETAA CBCA and Literature singles collections, and delivering professional learning sessions at school, local, state and national levels.
Amanda Worlley: Remembering the Past through Symbols | Years 5 and 6
Amanda is a teacher librarian and classroom teacher who is passionate about using quality children’s literature for teaching and learning and has a special interest in multiliteracies and using information and communication technologies (ICTs). Amanada wrote the Year 4 unit for the English for the Australian Curriculum website.
