PETAA is proud to partner with the Australian Children's Laureate Foundation for two live webinars with new Australian Children's Laureate Gabrielle Wang: one for teachers and one for students at remote schools and schools of the air. Each are taking place on Thursday 5th May 2022, and they are free and open to the entire education community. Learn more about them below!  

Teacher Webinar: in conversation with Australian Children’s Laureate Gabrielle Wang

In this webinar, arranged in partnership with the Australian Children’s Laureate Foundation, PETAA will be in live conversation with Gabrielle Wang, the new Australian Children’s Laureate 2022-2023. Gabrielle ‘Gabi’ Wang will talk about her Laureate theme ‘Imagine a Story’ and her mission to encourage everyone to read diverse literature. She will share her experience growing up as a Chinese Australian and how it inspired her creative journey.

This webinar is exclusively available for students at remote schools, schools of the air, distance education and virtual schools. PETAA is proud to provide an online session for students featuring Australian Children’s Laureate Gabrielle Wang! Gabi will share the important role her Chinese heritage has played in her creative journey and why exploring stories about diverse people and cultures is so important. Kids will also get a sneak peek inside Gabi’s journey to create her upcoming novel Zadie Ma and the Dog Who Chased the Moon.
