Teaching etymological spelling knowledge

Jennifer Asha briefly explains etymological spelling knowledge and its importance in the teaching of spelling. English can be a welcoming language as many English words have roots in different languages. Etymology is the study of that. The goal for teaching the historical and language origins of words is for students to gain a deeper awareness of words and their spelling.
