Online: Grammar and Teaching - Encore

Online: Grammar and Teaching - Encore
Hosted by Joanne Rossbridge and Kathy Rushton via synchronous, interactive Zoom sessions. Knowledge about selecting and using a range of texts to support understanding about literacy and literature will be developed by building on participants’ understanding of a functional model of language and how it is applied  in relevant curriculum and syllabus documents. Participants will also be further supported to develop a pedagogy with a focus on developing critical literacy and which includes the teaching of grammar in meaningful contexts and supports the development of meaning-making choices for all their students. The analysis of students’ language needs will be addressed and participants will be encouraged to provide targeted support using grammatical knowledge that defines the audience and purpose of the texts students both read, view and write.
