Spelling is core business for Foundation year level teachers. Join us while we see and hear how children are introduced to words, letters and letter patterns during shared reading and shared and interactive writing, and then use this information as they create their own texts.

Why participate?

• Hear how teachers can highlight spelling information during shared reading and writing.
• Discuss how students are encouraged to use this knowledge in their own writing.
• View videos of students engaged in learning to spell while reading and writing.

Who should participate?

• Teachers who are looking to support their students' spelling development and confidence
• Foundation level teachers

How does it work?

• Individuals: upon registration individuals will be sent a link to access the PL on our online learning platform.
• Whole schools: One staff member must register on behalf of their school. They can choose to have a single link to view this together or can email us the names and email addresses of teachers they wish to enrol. 

Completing this workshop will contribute 4 hours (NSW - Elective PL) of online Professional Learning addressing 2.1.2, 2.2.2 and 3.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
