> 20 February - 13 March 2023

This is a series of three short workshops which can be completed as a series or as single events. Part 1 focuses on play and subsequent sessions will focus on reading and writing.

Why participate?

In this first part, we’ll investigate how students can explore, manipulate and experiment with their environment and develop and practice skills as they play, while at the same time exploring aspects of language, constructing meanings and communicating for a wide range of purposes.

  • share classroom practices around play,
  • explore how teachers are already linking play and literacy learning
  • identify opportunities for literacy development during play scenarios
  • discuss how syllabus outcomes (for literacy AND across subject areas) can be enriched during play.

Who should participate?

  • Foundation and Kindergarten teachers
  • Early Childhood teachers

Cost of participation
Member $70
Non-Member

Completing Part 1 of this trilogy contributes approximately 2 hours of online learning addressing 2.5.2, 3.2.2 and 3.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
