Online: Joint Construction — Imaginative
Joint Construction: From model text to writing (imaginative texts). Presented by Joanne Rossbridge, this online course is for teachers seeking a deeper understanding of how and why we can support students in the joint construction of imaginative texts. Participants will examine examples of quality literature to consider choice of modelled texts and to learn how and when to focus on particular features. This knowledge will then be applied to jointly constructing texts. Aspects of teacher talk and strategies, including share the pen and use of mini whiteboards for developing student engagement, will be explored, as well as how to extend the use of metalanguage within the context of jointly constructing text. Joint construction will be looked at during the planning, drafting and publishing phases in the process of writing.
This course is self-paced.
